A two-fruit shopping list

“Two apples and one pear, please.”

Two pears and one apple also make three pieces. Look at each fruit on the ticket to decide which piece to swap.

How to play

  1. Read both parts.

Say the two amounts aloud before choosing fruit. The first order asks for two apples and one pear.

  2. Fill one line at a time.

Add the apples and check their counter. Then add the pear. You can tap a piece in the basket to put it back.

  3. Check both counts.

The basket holds up to five pieces. When both lines match, pack the order and move on to the next shopping list.

How is this different from Pip’s orders?

Pip’s orders asks for one kind of fruit per basket. Mixed baskets gives the child two quantities to remember and check within the same order.
